Preah Vihear is Cambodia’s north, bordering Thailand, and that was the reason until the recent border conflict by which each country claims the Angkorian temple Preah Vihear as his own. The journey takes approximately 4 hours, and must be done in 4x4, at least the last stretch. Preah Vihear means ‘sacred monastery’ and it was an intense and important place of pilgrimage during the Angkorian era.
